Zylkene, Kennel/Canine Cough, Puppy Castration, Cat Urine Problems, Live Export Update & Chinese Fake Zoo Animals – Ep 25

Hi podcast fans, and welcome to Episode 25 of the TWO VETS TALK PETS PODCAST, where to much talking of pets is barely enough.

This episode of TVTP podcast is brought to you by Zylkene from Vetquinol – talk to your vet to see if your stressed out pet could benefit from Zylkene.

Thanks as well to our fabulous Patreon supporters. If you’d like to help to support us in putting out the podcast, check out our Patreon page – choose a level you’d like to support us for. We thank you in advance!

In some house keeping – Robbie had some technical issues last week with putting up Rosie’s dental video on Youtube – well it’s up now, and the link is working, so check it out!

Lewis has had an odd week, with some nappy dumping issues, and gives an update on the Live Export and the latest press release regarding the companies involved.

Robbie talks about Chinese Zoo’s and the shenanigans they get up to in passing off animals that may not be as they are advertised after reading The Age’s Odd Spot. Tibetan Mastiff, and Penguins

and about some recurring urinary tract signs he has seen in cats in the last week (see previous talks on bladder disease in cats in previous episodes HERE)

Robbie then talks about Kennel Cough in Dogs – a really common, and really infectious cough in dogs.

We then return to the ASAV conference, with an interview with Anthea McClintock from Vetoquinol, and we talk about Zylkene.

Also we take a question from the Ukraine about whether it is a good idea to castrate a male dog.

Anaesthetic Free Dentals, Cat Trips to the Vet, Dogs & Human Emotions, Cane Toad Sausages? – Episode 17

Welcome Podcast fans to Episode 17 of the Two Vets Talk Pets podcast, where too much talk of pets is barely enough (this is in humble deference to Roy and HG – doyens of irreverent Australian Entertainment)!

What an episode we have for your ear buds this week!

Lewis and Robbie get some Chitty Chat Chat going hard and fast with a Study looking at dogs responses to the 6 human emotions, the oldest cat in the UK , Robbie and Lewis’s take on Cat Collars, and a sneaky way of trying to stop snatchy dogs taking treats, and delve into the world of Cane Toad Sausages!

Into the Podcast proper, and we discuss the hot button topic of Anaesthetic Free Dentals – we look at it from our perspective as vets and explain our opinions, from a dental health, and behavioural view point.

Lewis reports in on his cat Olive, who had another trip into the clinic for a microchip, and what she was like without the medications that Lewis used previously before her dental.

And Lewis and Robbie talk about their Purrfect Cat Carriers, and how to try and make your pet’s trip to the vet as easy and stress free, for everyone, as possible.

As always we like to hear your feedback (and after the Anaesthetic Free Dental talk – there may be quite a bit!) – so reach out and get in touch on all the cool social medias (and some of the uncool ones too – not myspace though – this isn’t 2003…). Find Two Vets Talk Pets on Facebook , Instagram or Twitter . Or send us an email twovetstalkpets@gmail.com, we love to hear from you!

Separation Anxiety, Safe Pet Foods, and Drunk Kangaroos – Episode 16

Welcome podcast fans to Episode 16 of the Two Vets Talk Pets Podcast!

We head back to the spiritual home of the Podcave for some seriously big topics this week.

Some chatty time about a dog Robbie saw with acute liver disease, Lewis making a public service announcement for Drunk Kangaroos, Dating with Dogs, and some handy hints on what to look for with making sure your pet food is made safely.

Lewis’s daughter April shows Robbie how to really do a disclaimer.

Lewis then delivers some serious  Podcast GOLD with his second part of Separation Anxiety – is your dog showing the tell tale signs? And how can you do something about it.

We then discuss in mailbag what to do if you think a vet has been negligent in the care of your pet.

If you like what you are hearing, or think one of your friends pets sounds like they might benefit from what you’ve heard in this podcast, share the pod! Let’s get it into as many ears as we can!

Go to Facebook , Instagram or Twitter to keep up with what Lewis and Robbie and getting up to when they are not podcasting. Or send us an email twovetstalkpets@gmail.com, and lets get some more questions on the podcast!

Food Guarding & Aggression, Diabetes – Part 1, Daytime Podcasting Fun! – Episode 14

With the Podcave basking in the tender glow of the winter afternoon sun, Lewis and Robbie meet up for some sneaky Saturday Podcast Action.

With Lewis avoiding having to go shoe shopping after surgery on his washing machine, and Robbie coming in from a busy Saturday morning consulting, we get into some fun times about dogs eating fish hooks, Lewis’s Cat Olive getting ready for her teeth to get cleaned, and a new friend of the show, Flowers Across Sydney , has joined the fight with protecting cats against lillies (check their blog HERE). We also have a the latest Megaoesophagus Update from the AVA.

Into the Meaty middle of the pod, Lewis has some great information and tips on Food Guarding and Aggression in dogs (including where he hides while trying to eat a Magnum to stop anyone taking it from him), while Robbie starts part one of Diabetes in Dogs and Cats – what is it, what signs you see, and how it’s diagnosed.

Also Lewis brings up Robbie’s sly day time Go-Karting escapades – it was all for a good cause…

We are here, you are there. For your thoughts and questions to get to us here, go to Facebook , Instagram or Twitter. Or send us an email twovetstalkpets@gmail.com, and we will feel good that you are listening, and that you care. Because we care. But don’t try to take our ice creams…
