Behaviour Mythbusting Part 2; Dreaming Dogs; Prescribing Laws; Skewers; Rich Cats & Fat Rats – Episode 53

Hello and Welcome to Episode 53 of the Two Vets Talk Pets Podcast, where too much talking of pets if barely enough.

This week on the good ship HMS TVTP, Robbie ponders about dreaming dogs, and dogs that dream of eating chicken skewers, Lewis about cats that dream about inheriting fortunes, and a rat that dreamed that the gap in the man hole cover was a little bit bigger

We then talk about why vets have to be careful prescribing medications and why we have laws that dictate what we can and cant do, and then it’s time for some good, old fashioned, MYTH BUSTING!

This episode is proudly supported by Zylkene from Vetquinol – a safe way to help your dog or cat that may be stressed or have a mild anxiety – safe in the young, the old, the big and the small, in the Canine, or the Feline. Wouldn’t recommend in a sloth. they already pretty sedate. They could go into a calm coma. Like me, after a nice warm milk. Before bed. But then I have to wee. And I wake up. Thankfully…

This episode is also supported by Prime 100 Pet foods – Australian made, Single Protein source diets for dogs and cats! Huge range, lots of flavours, for lots of different life stages, and diseases – So many options, great diets, lots of variety, almost as many options as a pizza shop. Which I why we want then to make the TVTP Prime 100 Ham and Pineapple Diet. That’d be pretty neat. Probably not practicable. We’ll leave the Practicality to Prime 100.

If you’d like to support the show check out our page at Patreon, and sign up to one of the options, and get yourself or your bumper an awesome sticker, and check out the exclusive Patreon Dominance Q&A session we did it was pretty awesome!

Tell us what pizza flavour you think would make a good dog food. Not meatlovers. Too easy. And nothing with onion. Or garlic. Or a Chocolate Dessert pizza. I wonder about a Crocodile and Tapioca Pizza… I might call Dominos…

Breed Specific Legislation; Medial Luxated Patella; Manicures for Bulldogs; Dog’s Feelings – Episode 52

Hello and Welcome to Episode 52 of the Two Vets Talk Pets Podcast, where too much talking of pets if barely enough.

This week Lewis talks about giving a Bulldog a world class manicure, and Robbie talks about a huge chocolate frog, and a great way to help prevent a bee sting reaction.

Lewis finds a Tiger in a house of disrepute in Houston, the guys discuss the legalising of dogs feelings in the ACT, and Elon Musk looking out for dogs in his Tesla’s.

Into the meaty part of the podcast, Robbie goes into a common cause of lameness of the back legs in dogs and cats – Medial Luxated Patella. Lewis then drills down onto some new data on Breed Specific Legislation in Denmark.

This episode is proudly supported by Zylkene from Vetquinol – a safe way to help your dog or cat that may be stressed or have a mild anxiety – safe in the young, the old, the big and the small, in the Canine, or the Feline. Safe, comforting, effective. Like a good pair of underwear.

This episode is also supported by Prime 100 Pet foods – Australian made, Single Protein source diets for dogs and cats! Huge range, lots of flavours, for lots of different life stages, and diseases – So many options, great diets, lots of variety. Like a good underwear draw. Except for diets part – what is a diet doing in an underwear draw…

Retractable Leads in Dogs, Chlorine Driving Cats Nuts?, Vet Clinic – Business and Stress – Episode 51

Hello and welcome listeners to episode 51 of the Two Vets Talk Pets Podcast, where too much talking of pets is barely enough.

In this weeks episode, Lewis talks about the importance of our awesome quarantine service, who have found cases of Foot and Mouth Disease in Pig Meat products being brought into Australia. And Robbie wonders why his cat Parker goes nuts around his board shorts after he’s back from a swim at the pool.

Lewis also has found a great article about the stressors of running a vet clinic, and how difficult it can be trying to deal with the expectations of clients, costs of treatment, and trying to juggle the running of a business.

So if you love your vet, give them a good review. And if you’re not happy with them, why not call them. Talk to them.

Then Lewis rocks right into a great look at why you shouldn’t use retractable leads for your dogs.

This episode is proudly supported by Zylkene from Vetquinol – a safe way to help your dog or cat that may be stressed or have a mild anxiety – safe in the young, the old, the big and the small, in the Canine, or the Feline. Not the washing line. Zylkene has ZERO effect on the washing line. If your washing line is stressed, maybe you need to stop swinging on it and pretending you are Superman. You are NOT Superman. You do not get your powers from Earths yellow Sun. And you should not wear your red undies on the outside of your pants. Or in general – and I’m talking to you Mr Abbott…

This episode is also supported by Prime 100 Pet foods – Australian made, Single Protein source diets for dogs and cats! Huge range, lots of flavours, for lots of different life stages, and diseases – So many options, great diets, lots of variety. SPD stands for Single Protein Diet. If you google it, it can also mean Sensory Processing Disorder, or Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction  – Sometimes you shouldn’t google acronyms…

Otherwise, have an awesome day. I’m still not sure anyone actually reads down to this part… I’m so sure that no one reads this I’ve just cut and copied last weeks one.

And I’ll keep doing it, until someone tells me they read it…

Here we are – 3 weeks in a row. Cutting and pasting the ending. Let me know if you are reading this! (**FOOTNOTE: I’m reading this every week, Robbie and you’re doing a great job. This is the 3rd week I’ve put this in and you haven’t told ME you’ve seen my reply……Cheers Lewis**)

Week 4! Lewis is reading! Outstanding! Thanks mate. But that’s just making sure that I’m not telling people to make sure they subscribe to us on Patreon to get you watching a scary movie though! Still no one else has touched base. Maybe this week – maybe… (we live in hope Robbie, Cheers Lewis)
